Each agent runs in a real terminal. Watch it work, type into it, or take over at any point. Arrange cards freely, or switch to Grid, Columns or Spotlight.
A commander hands work to a crew.
Give a commander a large job and it splits the work across workers on any provider. Each commander has one crew card with a tab per worker. When the workers finish, the commander gets one message with every result.
Nothing lands until the commander merges it.
Each worker edits its own git worktree, so your project stays clean while the crew works. The commander reviews each diff and merges the result into your working tree. Choose Ask me first or Automatically in Settings.

Does my code ever leave my machine?+
Control Deck has no hosted cloud service. The app, decks, files and keys stay on your machine, with secrets in OS credential storage. Your agent CLIs still talk to the model providers you choose, so what leaves your machine depends on those providers, not on Control Deck.
Which agents are supported?+
Codex, Claude, Cursor, Grok and OpenCode, plus plain shell cards. You can add your own ACP agents and terminal commands in Settings > Agents, or install agents from the ACP registry.
What's the difference between a commander and a worker?+
A commander is an agent card you open on the board. It takes normal jobs on its own and hands work to workers when a job should run in parallel. Workers run on any provider and live in the commander's crew card. You set how many run at once, from 1 to 24.
What happens to worker changes?+
Each worker edits its own git worktree. Its changes wait until the commander merges them into your project. In Settings, choose whether the commander asks you first or merges automatically. A merge writes uncommitted changes; committing stays with you.
Do I need an account or API keys?+
No Control Deck account. Sign in to the provider CLIs you already use. Optional background memory (Ctrl Ledger) runs on one of those signed-in CLIs or on a custom API endpoint you choose. It is not a separate paid service.
What platforms does it run on?+
Windows 10 and 11 (x64) today. macOS and Linux are planned.
